In Malaysia, Thieves Who Stole 85 Bitcoin Machines Were Arrested

Four men and one woman were arrested in Malaysia accused of stealing 85 Bitcoin machines. The capture came as a result of a police raid on November 2.

As reported by British newspaper The Sun Daily, the five rented a building in Seremban, Malaysia, adjacent to a warehouse containing Bitcoin machines, and drilled the concrete wall that linked the two buildings. Each of these machines is valued at $ 10,300, although the police did not clarify whether these machines were Bitcoin mining rigs.

At a press conference, Seremban police chief Supt Mohd Said Ibrahim stated that the disappearance of the 85 machines was reported by a shopkeeper on October 29. “Subsequently, the police carried out a series of raids to capture the suspects, aged between 25 and 46 years.”

In these raids, which occurred on Saturday between midnight and 5:00 am (local time), the authorities confiscated a car, a four-wheeled vehicle and heavy equipment possibly used to drill the wall.

Until the publication of this note, the suspects have not been sentenced.
