Porter Moser, who is the Loyola Chicago head coach, rejected the Red Storm offer of head coaching after the Red Storm met him on Monday.
Moser gained his fame a year ago after the Ramblers’ surprising run to the Final Four. He recently completed his eighth season at Loyola-Chicago. He has a record of 246-226 over fifteen seasons.
The Ramblers went 20-14 this past season and won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season but failed to earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
St John parted ways with the school legend Chris Mullin. He had gone 21-13 last season, which was his fourth year on the job. The Johnnies were eliminated in the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament.
The search of a head coach is still underway. They have not given up after Moser turned down their offer; they still hope they will get a coach who is experienced and proficient of running their men’s basketball team.
