Kevin Kiermaier came to Tampa Bay’s side to deliver the awaited runs to give them the big comeback.
Kiermaier assisted Rays in coming out of six-run deficit to crashing Toronto Blue Jays 7-6 on Tuesday night. This was Tampa Bay’s seventh victory in eight games.
In the tenth inning, Kiermaier hit a double off Buddy Bosher and also drove the game-ending run. Kiermaier said that it was crazy how they came back in one inning. It was nothing short of amazing.
Meadows, Willy Adames, and Avisail Garcia hit a two-run homer off Blue Jays starter Trent Thornton in the fourth inning. They helped in erasing the six-run lead by Toronto in just four innings.
Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays have a history of a comeback. Tampa Bay came back from a deficit of six runs and won. The Blue Jays also came back from a gap of 7 runs and beat Rays in just twelve innings on 27th July.
On Tuesday, in just three-run, Blue Jays led 6-0, and then Ray’s came back in four innings.
Bo Bichette Make Record
Bo Bichette, a rookie, set a record as the first player in major to get ten extra-base hits in the first nine games of his career. Three other notable players in MLB with extra-base hit record are: Pete Alonso, Alvin Davis and Trevor Story who all had nine extra-base hits.
Bo also set a record as the first Blue Jay with a third-inning single.
