Tyrone Mings has revealed that the presence of assistant manager John Terry and Dean Smith convinced him to join Villa this summer. Mings initially joined the club on loan in January from Bournemouth. He went on to make 18 Championship appearances, helping the club to win promotion via the promotion playoffs.
The 26-year-old joined Villa permanently this summer in a deal which could rise to as high as £25 million.
“The belief that they gave me and the confidence they had in me was a huge factor in how I played on the pitch,” Mings told Sky Sports News.
“When I got here I felt I was working under people who really believed in me and really wanted to help.
“My head and my heart were at Aston Villa after everything we went through in the short space of time I was there, so I’m delighted to be back.”
