Niall Horgan, founder of Irish Athletic and leisure wear Gym + Coffee, has been appointed to chair Digital Business Ireland, an online e-commerce digital representative body.
A native of Kerry Pike, he founded his company 3 years ago, has over 9 years of experience in various digital at slack, Sky and Twitter. He is going to be the first chair to be appointed, and will be at the helm for a period of 1 year.
Lorraine Higgins, Secretary-General at digital business Ireland, noted that the group’s key focus has been to deliver unrivalled learning opportunities and solutions for businesses that were forced to shift online by the pandemic.
She added that they are excited because they are in a position to shift things to the next level. While addressing Horgan’s appointment, she noted that DBI is keen to engage a chairperson, and an individual who strongly anchored in the digital, e-commerce and technology space, and has the necessary experience.
She added that his success, skills and experience will be invaluable to growth of DBI as the foremost representative of the digital space in Ireland.
Horgan stated that he is excited to be working with DBI. He added that while the present challenges facing business in the space cannot be taken for granted, he believed that talent, support from DBI’s leadership and industry insight will help businesses whether through this post-pandemic era.
