Online Instant Lotteries Face Prohibition by Russian Ministry in Move to Control Internet Gaming

Instant lottery ticket sales are sure to plummet now that the Russian Ministry of Finance is proposing their prohibition on the Internet. Only state lotteries organized by the them and the Ministry of Sports will be allowed.

You buy an instant lottery ticket and know right off the bat if you are a winner or a loser. It is on the ticket itself providing immediate gratification.

The new Ministry of Finance bill finds this activity to be a lottery in disguise and within their purview of control. They soon will be no more if deemed illegal gambling.

In addition, Russia’s Ministry of Finance also seeks to limit lottery prizes and target the percentage of transferred federal revenues.
