This past Monday, Playtech stated that they had received approval from the New Jersey Gaming Division that allows the company to supply its casino products online to operators licensed by the regulator. The company plans to launch its products in the next few weeks through an existing arrangement with Hard Rock Atlantic City and Bet365.
The company also added that it has plans to launch with a few other approved operators in the future and is currently working to secure such approval in other jurisdictions in the US.
Other than New Jersey, online casino products are yet to pick up in other parts of the US. Presently, only Pennsylvania Delaware have active online casinos products. West Virginia recently approved online casino products, but none has been launched so far.
Mor Weizer, CEO at Playtech, noted that launching their products in New Jersey is a huge milestone for the firm, and they are also looking into launching live casinos, sports betting and many other platform products in the future.
This announcement is a huge change for the company, which comes in the wake of a dark time after recent reports that a customer affiliated with the firm’s subsidiary PT Entertainment committed suicide. After 24 hours through the mud courtesy of the UK media, the firm announced plans to increase its contribution to responsible gambling organizations.
