It’s always good to be first. This time it has to do with the first casino to begin operations in Arkansas, a state that has just adopted sports betting. The Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort in Hot Springs is proud to have the title. A spokesperson explains,
“We’re excited to now be offering sports wagering. It’s a new level of entertainment for our guests.”
Oaklawn will surely be a destination spot with its 200 rooms, entertainment space, multiple restaurants and large gambling area, complete with live and electronic games.
Southland Casino and Racing in West Memphis also opened its doors thanks to the Supreme Court’s liberalization of gaming laws. The public now has a local venue offering a variety of traditional games such as blackjack, poker, roulette and slots.
To get ready, Southland Gaming and Racing had changed its name to Southland Casino Racing, a better reflection of it services. In total, the casino offers 2,000 slot machines and 40 live table games to residents of the Natural State.
