Oregon launched its sports mobile gambling platform, the Scoreboard, just a little over a month since. Run by the Lottery Oregon, it seems that it has attracted a lot of interest already and will only grow from where it stands today. The Lottery reported that in November, the first full month, the Scoreboard saw a handle of $13.1 million available.

The local news agency KGW reported on the current state of Oregon gambling and the belief that mobile gambling leads to civilizational downfall, as some people would claim to be totally misguided by Oregon and other states as well. With the digital platform, the Oregon Lottery can faster supply sports betting data, and in November, the average bet placed amounted to just $22. Although Oregonians can place bets of as much as 250,000 dollars, they are clever with their money.

However, that doesn’t mean they’re all clever. The LA Lakers / San Antonio Spurs game in the NBA showed an bet that could certainly be considered over the top. This contest took place on the 25th of November and the players should not pay attention to the statistics. The Lakers had a much more productive year, sitting 15-2, while the Spurs did not really do well and had a 6-12 lead in the game. The 15,021 dollars put on the spurs to pull out a surprise win.

The same player bets $7,000 total for the over / under for two NFL competitions–the Miami Dolphins against the Tampa-Bay Buccaneers and the Cleveland Browns. The person did not get back the entire $15 K loss, but the bank replaced at least $5000.

In the field of gambling, Oregonians have to have a crystal ball–except Spurs fans. Of the 13.1 million dollars the state saw last month, 12.1 million dollars were paid to players. A big part went to a single better who, according to the KGW, saw his $5,000 bet survive a $15, and instantly, $81,965.

That unidentified gambler went across the pond to find his (or her) targets. The games were reportedly in the Euroleague women and Eurocup women basketball leagues, and the media outlet adds,

“It was the largest payout on a single wager since the Oregon Lottery released its new online sports betting game last month.”
