Telstra Corporation, Australia’s largest telecommunications company, pilots its first neurodiversity recruitment program and is opening applications across a range of IT domains.
To successfully do that, the company has partnered up with Specialisterne Australia.
Specialisterne Australia is an organization that “assists businesses in recruiting and supporting people on the autism spectrum”. The telecommunications company has listed technology domains where it needs additional personnel. Some of these jobs are related to accessibility, UX/CX, network engineering, DevSecOps, cloud financial operations (FinOps), and cloud platform engineering.
Telstra senior capability specialist Serap Potocki has expressed how happy he was with his company’s partnership with Specialisterne Australia. He wrote on LinkedIn:
“Telstra is excited to be partnering with the team at Specialisterne Australia to launch Telstra’s Neurodiversity recruitment program. Through an unconventional approach, we aim to attract, assess, and hire autistic talent into a number of permanent roles across our business.”
Those who are willing to join Telstra can do so until February, as the Applications are open until then. The company will have all of those that it hired via this program onboard in April. This entire program is a part of Telstra’s FY21 accessibility action plan.
