Chelsea Angelo has joined the list of the female drivers to lock in a TCR Australia program.
Angelo will drive the second of Kelly Racing’s two Opel Astras in the new-for-2019 TCR Australia category. She is the third female star to join the TCR Australia grid, with Molly Taylor (Kelly Racing Subaru) and Alexander Whitley (Alliance Autosport VW) already locked in.
She is also the third driver signed up for KR’s four-car TCR program, along with Taylor in one of the two Subarus, and Alex Rullo in the other Opel. This is like a dream to Angelo; she still can’t believe she will race in TCR this year. She said that she felt that TCR was an excellent category for her.
It will be her first time to race a four-wheel –drive car, and she is confident that she will get her head around it. She acknowledged TCR as being a high category which is known globally, and it can open doors to overseas racing.
On Friday, the TCR season will kick off at Sidney Motorsports Park.
