Tottenham Hotspur reportedly fear that they could lose Toby Alderweireld for free next summer. The Belgian’s contract with the North London club is due to expire at the end of the season and has yet to pen a new deal. Should he not do so soon, he will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs in January over a potential free transfer next summer.
Roma were the only club linked with Alderweireld this summer but a move failed to materialize. Alderweireld is a key part of the Spurs team and made 50 appearances in all competitions last season. Losing him could be a major blow to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
