Manchester United striker is nearing his move to Inter Milan after the Serie A side made an improved new £77m offer.
It is understood that Inter will pay an initial £65m with £12m in add-ons.
Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, arrived in the UK on Tuesday for crucial talks with Manchester United, while the player is still in Belgium where he has been training with former side Anderlecht. However, he was expected to report back to the Carrington training ground on Tuesday.
Reports suggest that Lukaku angered United last week after leaking private training data via twitter.
The Belgian international is keen to leave Old Trafford this summer having not featured even once for United in pre-season. He also feels has been treated unfairly since Solskjaer took over from Mourinho in December.
The 26-year-old was almost close to join Juventus in a swap deal involving Paulo Dybala, but the Argentine’s hesitation and wage demands put off United.
